I'm going on hiatus - well, I have been already - just haven't told ya. Lots going on and not enough time to write these days. Will be back at some point.

MUA Website
I'm presently venturing out and pursuing a career doing something that I love -- make up.
Thus, I have created a website and I think you should check it out.
(It's still a work in progress).

PRW: Urban Decay All Nighter
Before last month, I had only had one experience with a make up setting spray before - which was on my wedding day. Saying as I'm presently pursuing a career as a makeup artist, I went out and bought Urban Decay's All-Nighter as it appeared to have the best reviews.
Urban Decay's website says:
Though I have nothing to compare it to, I am definitely pleased with the results of it. 2-4 sprays and your makeup is set to go and last the rest of the day. I even took it a step further just for curiosities sake and went to bed before taking my make up off - when I awoke in the morning I was impressed. My make up was still on and almost in the same condition as the day before - and considering how I sleep, you would be impressed too. I can testify that it definitely makes your makeup last for at least 16 hours, however I can definitely feel it when it's sprayed on and it's a bit on the expensive side of things. But overall, I love the longevity it gives make up and would definitely recommend it to others.... as long as you're ok with the price.
Urban Decay's website says:
"Your makeup will last 16 hours! Perfect for all skin types, this ultra-fine mist holds makeup for brides, dancers, and ladies who just like lookin' GOOD. In an exclusive partnership with SKINDINÄVIA, we developed this groundbreaking setting spray that keeps your makeup on for 16 unbelievable hours. Legendary enough that it’s already inspired imitations, All Nighter boasts a patent pending Temperature Control Technology that makes this weightless mist so powerful and sets it far above the competition. Your makeup won’t melt when it's warm and humid or become dehydrated when it’s cold and windy. Yes, it actually lowers the temperature of your makeup to hold foundation, eyeshadow, blush and concealer in place. The sprayer, unlike others on the market, delivers a micro-fine mist that distributes product evenly over the skin. To use: Simply apply your makeup as usual, then mist All Nighter on in an “X” and “T” formation (making sure to shake the bottle before each use). The mist really is so fine, you’ll hardly feel it!"

Music: Dizmas
I have had the opportunity to meet the band, Dizmas, on a few occasions. I'd like to think that I'm not the type of person to go up to the lead singer of a band and start a conversation - but alas I have found myself in that situation partly wondering what the shmeck is going through my mind, partly embracing the situations my friends have put me in.
Yours
| Zac, the lead singer, and me |
Needless to say, I've met them - I've conversed with them, seen many of their shows , and love what they do during their concerts. They share the gospel during EVERY show I have been to and that is awesome and amazingly fantastic.
| Sharing the Gospel mid concert |
Now all of that to bring you to the lyrics of one of their songs I haven't heard in a while, but itunes shuffle blessed me with it recently:
Yours
Feels like the sky has never been so blue
But that's not the way it used to be
'Cause there was a time that I was without you
Before I said that I believe
Oh, I need a Savior
Oh, I need a Savior
I want to give this up
I want to hold your hand
Take away this fear that's like an ocean in my head
I want to tell you now
What I couldn't say before
You are everything that I was always looking for
So take me where you want me
Take me 'cause I wanna be yours
I've got pride that I still have to break
It's keeping me away from you
But you stay patient while I make mistakes
I'm learning how to trust that you
Are always a Savior
Oh...
In the good and the bad times
Oh, it don't really matter
I want to know you

PRW: Kevyn Aucoin Books
Kevyn Aucoin was a makeup artist and photographer who worked with Vogue, Shisheido, many celebrities including Julia Roberts, Christina Ricci, and Madonna and launched his own beauty line in 2001. He was very passionate for what he did and it shows in his books. He has 4 books published; I own two of them - Making Faces and FaceForward.
While I can't tell you it will make you an expert makeup artist, his books provide step by step instructions and helpful tips to widen your range of cosmetic knowledge. His books have helped me tremendously understand the art of makeup better and have also helped me to approach it differently than I have before. I find these to be the most beneficial books to makeup artistry I have read thus far and I definitely recommend them if you're looking to get a better understanding of makeup.
[[ I would add a a picture of the books, but blogger isn't allowing me to at the moment]]
Happy Wednesday :)

I wonder.
As I'm riding our sometimes sketchy elevator to the second floor of our apartment complex as the sun is setting after work, or as I'm hurrying to the elevator in the morning as the sun is changing the sky from orangey pinks to sunny blue (or lately as it's just overcast grey), I find myself wondering what the stories are from the people who live around us. Like on of our neighbors who leaves the house around 8/9pm most nights (a late night job I assume) but is home in the morning to take his 2 girls to school and then is greeted by joyous cheers of "Daddy!" when he gets home in the evening, or the ones who leave heartbroken in the morning as their baby screams after them when left with the sitter, or the guy who is always outisde of the parking garage on his cell phone, or our neighbors with the cute little dog who I can only assume are relatively newly married (I like to think they have the same goal as we do), or the owners of the $100k+ cars in an apartment. That always takes me back to my econ class my senior year of highschool. I wonder about their lives, about their stories, how they got to where they are; I wonder if their Christians, what they believe, what their goals are. But most of the time, there's no interactions - most of the time I find myself in the elevator alone - which surprises me and on the occassions in which there's company in the elevator, there's awkward small talk in the 30-45 second trip up the floors. I wonder when I'll figure out how to really talk with people in an elevator situation, and more than that - I wonder why elevator situations always seem awkward.

Whoops!
I did it again... got busy and Product Review Wednesday slipped my mind. So here it is, my apologies - BUT I just ordered a few things and have more things to shop for this weekend - SO there will be many more in the next few weeks! I'm excited about that - but I'll elaborate more in a separate post hopefully this weekend (I'll try to schedule in a blog update between my study, workout, mua inquiries, mua sessions, research, and church obligations -- that makes it sound notfun, but trust me; it's a blast and I love it!)
Happy Friday!

5...6....7....8...!
I got a dancercise 4 DVD work out set. It's incredibly cheesey, but it's working :) Here's to a new page in life - a healthier one. Woohoo! Plus, I need the discipline in my life.
